4 Ways to Conquer your Spring Fever
The days are getting longer. The sunshine just looks more sunshiny. It’s going to be over 50 degrees today. My body is beach/pool ready. Okay, maybe my body isn’t ready but my brain is ready for warmer weather! But we know that you can’t trust the weather until after Mother’s Day in Colorado. In the meantime, while you’re waiting here are a few things to keep you busy and get your home ready for spring…
- Landscape Design: Maybe you can do this yourself. Me? I love a beautiful garden but I have a black thumb. I have no idea where certain plants will thrive, how big they’ll get, what’s going to look good together or even how much they’ll cost. Hiring an experienced landscape designer to figure it all out for you is surprisingly affordable, as in under $300. Need one? Contact us, we know a great guy.
- Yard Maintenance: Not exciting but this is a great time to take care of last year’s business. Clear out those garden beds, cut back ornamental grasses, make sure dead leaves aren’t killing your grass. Late winter is also surprisingly one of the best times of year to prune most of your beautiful trees.
- Deck/Pergola/Patio Cover Design: Late winter is cutting it close but if you have a good idea of what you want done, you can still get most of your big outdoor living projects finished by early summer. Just remember the longer you wait to contract your project, the farther out your starting date falls on your favorite contractor’s schedule.
- DIY Weekend Warrior Projects: Hiding our ugly AC unit that’s inconveniently located right next to our deck is going to be my goal this spring. I’m thinking something like this DIY but using leftover composite decking materials so we don’t need to finish it or worry about warping.
P.S. That picture is from a family camping trip at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. This is your reminder to reserve your summer camping spots now before they’re all full. You’re welcome!
